Unlocker 2.1.0 のインストール

ESXiにmacOS　HighSierraをインストールした。

ESXiを6.5にした際には、Unlockerが邪魔になってVMが起動しない事象が起こったが、それをアンインストールして対処していた。

HighSierraを起動させることはできたのだが、どうやっても画面の解像度が、1920x1080を選んでもその半分の960x540(HiDPI)に戻されてしまう。

最初の対策としては、VMWareToolsをUnlocker2.0.8同梱のものに変えた。

関連して検索すると、Unlockerも最新の2.1.0に更新されているようなので、これをインストールしておく。（2.1.1もあるにはあったがESXiがサポート外トなっているような記述があったので避けた。）

インストールの再参考にしたテキストは、以下。

You will need to transfer the zip file to the ESXi host either using vSphere client or SCP.
⇒zipファイルをホストにアップロードしてね。

Once uploaded you will need to either use the ESXi support console or use SSH to
run the commands. Use the unzip command to extract the files.
⇒アップロードしたら、そのzipを解凍してね。

⇒注：スクリプトの格納と実行には、データストアを使ってね。

Please note that you will need to reboot the host for the patches to become active.
The patcher is embbedded in a shell script local.sh which is run at boot from /etc/rc.local.d.
⇒パッチは起動時に読み込まれるシェルスクリプトに書かれているから、ホストへのパッチ適用を有効にするためには、再起動が必要なんで、気を付けてね。

You may need to ensure the ESXi scripts have execute permissions
by running chmod +x against the 2 files.

esxi-install.sh - patches VMware
esxi-uninstall.sh - restores VMware
⇒この２つのファイルを実行するには、権限が必用なんで確認してね。

There is a boot option for ESXi that disables the unlocker if there is a problem.
At the ESXi boot screen press shift + o to get the boot options and add nounlocker.
⇒問題ある場合は、パッチを無効にする起動オプションがあるよ。
　起動画面で、Shift+o　で起動オプションが出るので、パッチ無効にできるよ。

Note:
1. Any changes you have made to local.sh will be lost. If you have made changes to
that file, you will need to merge them into the supplied local.sh file.
2. The unlocker needs to be re-run after an upgrade or patch is installed on the ESXi host.
3. The macOS VMwwre tools are no longer shipped in the image from ESXi 6.5. They have to be
downloaded and installed manually onto the ESXi host. For additional details see this web page:

(ESXi)Sierraにおける画面チラつきの解決

Sierraのアップデート(10.12.5)以降、操作の際にRGBが反転するような変な画面チラつきがあった。

アップデートでドライバーのバージョンが変わったのか、ついにRadeon5770なんてサポート外となったのか？とも思ったが、思わぬところで解決。

ESXiの仮想マシンの構成で、メインディスプレイは5770をパススルーし、サブディスプレイはVMの標準ディスプレイを使っている。

どうやらその２つのディスプレイの解像度をそろえる必要がありそうだ。俺環では1920x1080のFullHDとなる。

こう考えるとMirrorDTC側の課題なのかもしれない。VNCならそもそも問題にならなかったのかもしれない。

ESXi 6.5にアップデート後のVM起動不可について

ESXiを6.0系から6.5系にアップグレードしたところ、

[仮想マシン ****** のパワーオンに失敗しました。転送 (VMDB) エラー -45: Failed to connect to peer process。詳細についてはここをクリックしてください。]

的なエラーが発生。

原因はunlocker208だったので、アンインストールしたらOK。

uninstallコマンド
unlocker208 のフォルダまで移動して
./esxi-uninstall.sh

でも一部のVMは起動しないままなので、unlocker209待ち。

(ESXi)SierraにパススルーしたAMD Radeon HD5770のドライバをあてた

必要なドライバは４つ＋bundle

これはSierraのものをそのまま使う(=1.4.6)
・AMDRadeonX3000.kext
　(AMDRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle　も)

以下はElCapitanのものを流用する(=1.4.2)
・AMD5000Controller.kext
・AMDFramebuffer.kext
・AMDSupport.kext

SIPを無効にすること
/System/Library/Extensions/　に上書きしたらchown chmodをすること

kext wizardで見るとこうなる

全部1.4.6の時は、5000ControllerとFramebufferがloadされなかった。
※厳密には5000Controllerは最初loadされるが、途中でunloadされてしまう。

全部1.4.2にしたら、X3000.kextがloadされない
X3000がないと、透過が効かず、モッサリ

RemixOSを仮想端末に入れるときcfdiskが使えなくなったら

cgdiskでは今のところうまく起動しないので、cfdiskを使いたい。
何かしているとcgdiskしか使えなくなってしまう。

RemixOSの起動オプションでDEBUG=1を立てて起動
fdisk /dev/sda　で入って
o　コマンドでDOSパーティション作成
w　コマンドで書き込み
再起動してcfdiskを利用

KVMにおける課題解決の進捗

残課題

・spiceを使わずvncで受けることができないか？
　→できそう。ただし、解像度を明示的に変更することができずに、なんか小さい画面になってしまう。

・サウンドカードの認識。Radeon5770のHDMIオーディオでは出力できているがリモートデスクトップで鳴らすことができない。ac97を使っているが、GUIのときに使っていたich6にすることができればよいのか？
　→ゲストOSが64bitである場合、ich6でないと音が鳴らないようだ。
　　ac97でも起動はできるが、ゲストOS上ではうまく認識できなかった。

・Radeon5770につながっているモニター上で、どうやってマウスとキーボードを使えるようにするか？
　→未解決

・Windows7 64ビットにてGPUをPCIパススルーしていると、ほかのグラフィックアダプタ用ドライバがことごとくエラーになる。
　qxlも！マークがついてしまう。cirrusにするとWindows側では標準VGAアダプタのドライバとなり
　解像度設定も安定する。

・M/Bはギガビットイーサなのに、仮想マシンは100Mbpsである。
　→'rtl8139'から'e1000'に変更することで、ギガビットイーサになる。
　　　何かの要因で、デフォルトゲートウェイが消えるトラブルに陥る。
　　　ゲストOS(Windows)のレジストリをいじれば何とか消えないようにできる。
　　　根本的にはxml上のaddressエレメントを一回消したり、ドライバとデバイス自体を
　　　一旦削除して、追加することで回避できるのではないかと思う。
　→’virtio’にすると10Gbpsで認識される。(Windows7ではBSOD)

・virtioドライバでディスクのI/Oの向上。

　→Windows8.1では認識される。実感しているかは不明。

　　テクニックとして、まず仮のディスクイメージをマウントして、ゲストOSでvirtioドライバを

　　インストールして、HDDとして認識させておいて、システムHDDをvirtio化する

　　うまくできたら、仮のディスクをアンマウントして、はずすと綺麗になる。

※~~Windows7HP64bitのゲストOSでは、virtio系ドライバを入れると~~

　~~全てフリーズかBSODにつながる。Windows8.1でそれほど問題ない。~~

　→Windows7HP64bitでBSODになるのはviostor.sysで、これはHDDのドライバ。
　　　virtioドライバの0.1-100、0.1-81、0.1-52を試したが全て駄目。
　　　仮想HDDドライブを新たに作り直しても駄目

・仮想マシンシャットダウン時(再起動時も？)に、エラーを吐いてフリーズしている。
　→パススルー関連でエラーが発生し、コマンド受付できなくなる
　→ホストでドライバの「radeon」「dram」「snd_ _intel」をブラックリストへ追加
　　およびgrub2のカーネルパラメータに「nomodeset」を追記して
　　起動時にドライバを読み込ませなくすることで一応解決を見た。

KVMでGPUのパススルーを目指す

結論としては、多少課題はあるが「成功」

TIPS
・設定ファイルの保存パスは/etc/libvirt/qemu/
・自動起動のON、OFFは
　virsh autostart guestname　→ON
　virsh autostart --disable guestname　→OFF
・CPUのトポロジーは
　<cpu mode='host-passthrough'></cpu>
　でパススルー

ポイント
・Fedora21でできた。(数あるディストリビューションの中でも、比較的最新のカーネルだったからかも)
　うまくいかなかったのは、VMWareESXi 5.5、Centos7でのKVM。
・Radeon5770でできた。パススルーするときは、GPU部分とHDMIオーディオ部分の2デバイスがPCIとして認識しているが、両方ともパススルーしてやる必要がある。xmlに片方しか記述しないと仮想マシンを起動できない。これ以外のグラフィックカードは持っていないので試していない。
・(CentOS7では、)GNOMEなどGUIで頑張ってみたがうまくいかなかったが、Fedora21にしてCUIで進めていったらできた。

現時点での残課題
・spiceを使わずvncで受けることができないか？
・サウンドカードの認識。Radeon5770のHDMIオーディオでは出力できているがリモートデスクトップで鳴らすことができない。ac97を使っているが、GUIのときに使っていたich6にすることができればよいのか？
・Radeon5770につながっているモニター上で、どうやってマウスとキーボードを使えるようにするか？
・M/Bはギガビットイーサなのに、仮想マシンは100Mbpsである。
・virtioドライバでディスクのI/Oの向上。
・仮想マシンシャットダウン時(再起動時も？)に、エラーを吐いてフリーズしている。

少しずつブラッシュアップしていくのだが、最初の仮想マシン作成コマンドは、
virt-install --name win7_64-01 --ram 4096 --disk path=/home/kvm/images/win76401.img,size=64 --vcpus 2 --os-type windows --os-variant win7 --network bridge=br0 --cdrom=/dev/cdrom --graphics spice,listen=0.0.0.0 --channel

だった。

fetchmailによるドコモメールの転送

[注意]
set daemon を有効にしないと logファイルが記録されない。(たぶんそのまま)

[課題]
・~~転送先であるgmail自身からdocomo.ne.jpに送っても転送されない。~~（できてるっぽい）
・~~起動スクリプトがうまく働かない。~~
・いわゆる受信トレイしか新着として認識しない。(設定でフォルダを書けばいけるかも)

ChromiumOSはPAE必須

古いPCでPAE(物理アドレス拡張)に対応していないCPU、マザーの場合、
インストーラーが走らない。
